Band Bio
Raphy Castillo and his Sexteto Quiqueya is a Salsa and Son musical band formed in 2009. The band comprises eight talented musicians from the Dominican Republic. Columbia and Cuba.
Raphy is the musical director, trumpet player, writer, and composer f all of the original songs recorded by the band. El Sexteto Quisqueya has also had the privilege of accompanying famous Salsa singers like Cuco Valoy and Rey Reyes, among many others.
The group has recorded 15 songs, composed and arranged by Raphy Castillo. The original songs were produced by Mr. Castillo in cooperation with his piano player, the talented Colombian producer Alfonso Cayon.
Although Salsa and Son are the primary genre, El Sexteto Quisqueya also incorporates Boleros, Merengues and Bachata into their repertoire.
